It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dear friend Rick Derringer on May 26th, for Sonic Crusaders would not exist without him. Joe Ciaudelli, the founder of Sonic Crusaders, met our band's drummer (Ken Moutenot)and bass player (Charlie Torres) through Rick!
Our band often covers Derringer's hits "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo" and "Hang on Sloopy." Derringer also played guitar on our song "Wedding Ring."
Here is a song called "Till the Bell Tolls for Me" that Sonic Crusaders did with Washboard Chaz from New Orleans. It was written by Joe Ciaudelli. The song features horn players Curt Ramm on trumpet (from Bruce Springsteen's band) and horn arranger Bill Holloman on sax. Enjoy!
